Following are instructions for using some of the Lariat resources.
Information in these documents may also be useful for setting up
new resources.
-
Compute on Anomaly (SGI Altix)
CCB and Lariat are making available an SGI Altix supercomputer for
development of parallel MATLAB codes. Here's how to get access
and how to write some MATLAB, FORTRAN and Python parallel programs.
-
Compute on UN Reno Cluster
The University of Nevada, Reno is providing access to bioinformatics
compute clusters through a Lariat program, eCABAL. This document
describes the purpose of that program and contains information
on requesting an account on the compute cluster.
-
Request data space from SDSC
The San Diego Supercomputer Center provides free online disk and
tape space for scientific community data and for-fee space for
general use. This document provides information on prices and
an email contact for online space requests.
-
Quickly transfer data
The Lariat project has set up a science server, hickok.lariat-west.org,
to provide a collaborative environment, compute resources and data
resources. This document describes one strategy for efficiently
transferring files from the Lariat science server to the San Diego
Supercomputer Center storage space.
-
Use Lariat VNC
The Lariat science server also has facilities to support a collaborative
desktop environment with VNC. This document describes use of that
facility.
-
Use Lariat Samba filesystem
Another service available through the Lariat science server is
a Samba filesystem. This has provisions for both read-write
and read-only access. This document details how to request
an account and how to use the filesystem.
