National Network
The map below shows the plan for implementing the wide area network. The internet connectivity for each of the 6 sites will be
upgraded to higher bandwidth and faster speeds. Each sites' connection to the closest point of presence (POP) will be upgraded:
between Montana State University, University of Idaho, University of Alaska, University of Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest Gigapop
in Seattle; between the University of Wyoming and the Front Range Gigapop in Denver and between the University of Nevada-Reno and
the CENIC hub in Sunnyvale, CA.
Local Networks
Network engineering diagrams, provided by David Richardson, University of Washington, for each of the six
institutions are shown below. Parts of the network shown in red are provided by the Lariat network, parts in green
are provided by each institution.
